BlockLAB: Welcome

EVALUATING BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGIES IN BUSINESS SYSTEMS DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE

BlockLAB researchers conduct management and code-level studies in enterrprise blockchain applications, including (1) blockchain network architectures, distributed ledgers, transaction exchange, smart contracts, and secure records management; (2)  address how blockchain affects data architectures and data governance policies, including the potential to replace shared DBs, Replication / Data Fabrics, ETL/Data Lineage Tools, Messaging, and Workflow Engines; and  (3) investigate blockchain’s market evolution, driven by investment patterns in venture capital, corporate investment, ICO financing, evolving consortia and partnerships, and enterprise adoption.

BLOCKCHAIN'S MARKET EVOLUTION

An Analysis of Blockchain's Erratic Market Evolution

Blockchain's market evolution has been uniquely erratic, juxtaposed between the growth of crypto - fintech, and the uncertain pace of enterprise and public sector adoption of blockchain applications. Using market entry and investment data collected from multiple data sources, this project is testing an empirical model of early-stage adoption and investment patterns, market discontinuities, and market exits. Paper in progress, expected Winter 2021.
